Responsibilities and Tasks
This is the job for you if you are socially interested and driven by analyzing large data sets to find important conclusions to counteract welfare fraud.
In the role of analyst, you will contribute to the knowledge development regarding incorrect payments from welfare systems and welfare fraud. You will analyze, for example, public attitudes towards welfare fraud, behaviors, setups, and methods used in welfare crime, and calculate the extent of incorrect payments using various statistical methods. The role includes writing knowledge reports and communicating expert knowledge from the agency's work. Furthermore, it involves monitoring the external environment and participating in knowledge exchanges with relevant actors inside and outside the state administration. You may also participate in other development work at the agency.
The Payment Authority has a unique collection of tasks that currently includes registry data from paying authorities as well as other registers from, for example, the Companies Registration Office, the Land Survey Authority, and the Enforcement Authority. Soon, the Payment Authority will begin connecting municipalities, which means that the data collection will include registry data on municipal payments. We use Python, SQL, and Stata to analyze data.
We are looking for someone who has
- A relevant academic degree
- At least two years of relevant experience in qualified investigative and analytical work
- At least two years of relevant experience working with quantitative methods for data collection and analysis
- Experience in conducting environmental monitoring
- Experience collaborating with various stakeholders
- Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is an advantage if you also have
- Good knowledge of tools such as Python, SQL, or Stata
- Good knowledge of welfare systems
Desired Abilities and Skills
To thrive and succeed in the role of analyst, you need to have problem-solving analytical skills. You are self-driven, flexible, and goal- and result-oriented. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and strong verbal communication skills.

The place of employment is in Stockholm. The agency is located in modern premises near Gullmarsplan. The position is classified in a security class, which requires Swedish citizenship. The position is a permanent full-time employment. A six-month probationary period may be applicable. You may be assigned to the agency in case of war.
